Kevin Hotte - Voice-Over Artist / Copy Writer / Music Composer / Recording Engineer

 

Since 2000, I have released four albums of my own original music which has received airplay all over the world on public and campus radio as well as on mainstream television and movie theatres.

 

I am also an accomplished copy writer and journalist with many years experience in the media.   This may come in handy for you if you also require someone who can compose copy or edit it on-the-spot. 

 

Throughout my pursuits in the music industry, I found that I was often being told that I had a particularly unique broadcast voice. I began to explore the avenue of voice-over work as another revenue stream and here we are today! 

 

I work and creates in my own home studio in the Niagara area of Ontario, Canada. I call my studio a 'boutique' studio because it was designed as my own private project studio rather than a large commercial facility.  My equipment, (all digital) and software is capable of handling any project or style style of voice-over and music recording.

From audio books, training media, commercials to scoring and voice-overs for film, television or electronic gaming, I can handle it all.

​

If you are a solo artist, singer-songwriter or band that need to record your music in a no-nonsense, no frills studio then my studio is perfect for you needs.

OUR STUDIO SPACE

 

​The studio resides in the basement of my home, in a residential area, with it's own separate entrance and a very creative, atmospheric vibe.  When you come here to record, you are my guest. You will have full access to the comfortable lounge area, the tracking room and the control room. The upper levels of the house are private and off-limits. 

​

My space is small and cozy but it can accommodate a full 3 to 5 piece band. To save space and increase productivity, I kindly ask that on the day of recording ONLY band members attend. To add to your comfort, you will also have access to an endless supply of coffee, tea, water and soft drinks. 

​

If you are a solo artist or a band that needs a drummer, I am able to provide you with my professional services at an additional cost.  If you require other musicians, I can hire them for you as well.

​

For bands, I have a full drum kit already mic'd up and ready to go BUT if your drummer prefers, he/she can bring in their own kit, but keep in mind that the meter will be running while they set-up and tear down! 

 

Please keep in mind that this is a recording studio and NOT a rehearsal studio. You should arrive prepared to get right to recording as time is money and you don't want to waste yours by not being prepared. 

 

Finally, I shouldn't have to say it but no alcoholic beverages or drugs are allowed and this is a smoke and vape-free environment. Rude and aggressive behavior directed at bandmates or myself will not be tolerated. If same occurs, you will be asked to pay for what time you have used and then asked to leave the premises. As I said, this is my home, I expect you to be respectful of that and I also have neighbors to consider.

  • The DAW (digital audio workstation) that I use is the most up-to-date version of Presonus Studio One Professional

  • I have a full drum kit on-site and ready to record

  • If  you are a solo artist, I am part of a vast network can find other musicians for your recording

COST

 

Because each project is specific and unique to each client, my rates will vary project-to-project. It must be stressed that I am not a large commercial studio with all the trappings that come along with that. As a result, my rates are nowhere near as high either because my  overhead is not as high.

 

Your total cost will start with my basic hourly rate (email me to get that rate), and from there, it will vary depending on any additional equipment rentals you require,  the length of time you spend here and any other incidental costs incurred in finishing your project.  Your project will be billed four separate ways: ​

1) Recording (tracking)

2) Mixing

3) Mastering

4) Incidentals (additional equipment rentals, musicians etc.)​

I also charge my standard hourly rate if pre-production meetings are required.
